8/10/2010 · Well i finally got my new clutch in my 1066 and its doesnt seem to go into gear now. A little FYI i added 3 more springs to make it a 15 spring and put HD springs in also. Before i started it i adjusted the pedal with 5/8 inch free play, adjusted dump spool valve to 9/16 inch travel and adjusted the trans brake according to the book with the pedal pressed.

3/25/2012 · I just finished a complete engine rebuild on our IH 1066 gear drive tractor. While doing the rebuild we decided to go ahead and replace the clutch and throwout bearing while we had it split apart though we were not having any problems with the clutch beforehand. The good news is the new engine runs great. the bad news is the new clutch won’t engage.
It will weep a little fluid from time to time when the clutch pedal is depressed and held there. Probably 15 to 20 drops. I am still able to disengage and stop tractor and can shift easily with 2 fingers most of time but once in a while when cylinder leaks oil I think it is not completely disengaging clutch which makes for hard shifting.
